For twenty-one seasons in Edinburgh and ten years in London the Pleasance Theatre has endeavoured to provide a platform for the talent of the future and has been the first to showcase the work of many of our best loved comedians, actors, directors and writers.

That this has been achieved without public subsidy is remarkable in itself. There are few theatres in the world that can match longevity and artistic acclaim without financial support from public funding bodies.

However, this does not mean that the Pleasance has been able to exist unsupported. Quite the opposite is true!

We are deeply grateful to the many businesses, organisations and philanthropic individuals whose generous contributions to all things Pleasance have kept us going. Like all independent theatres our very survival depends on donations big and small – all donations are gratefully received!!!
