CITY Shorts is the inaugural festival of new writing from the first year writers at City University studying on the MA Creative writing (Plays and Scripts) programme.

In November 2005 each playwright was set the task to develop a short 10-minute play for 2 to 3 characters. The writers have been through three drafts and one workshop with a professional director and actors. Deckchair Productions present this festival for the writers to experience their work in front of an audience before embarking on their final year and to provide a platform for young theatre practitioners to work together.
